In 1855 at the age of 27 and after working at a very early age with his father in a textile mill in Pudsey, England, Matthew Webster and three of his brothers migrated to America.  The four brothers continued in the family legacy and found work in Illinois in the growing textile industry.

Six years later, in 1861, these Webster brothers constructed a woolen mill in Lincoln, IL.  They moved their business to Minnesota establishing three woolen mills with the last one being a state-of-the-art facility built in Winona, MN, by one of Matthew's sons.

In 1923, two of Matthew Webster's grandchildren moved from Winona, MN to Two Rivers, WI, where a woolen yarn manufacturing facility, called Crescent Woolen Mills Co., was established.  More than eighty years later, you still have Matthew Webster's great great grandchildren manufacturing woolen and synthetic yarns in Two Rivers, WI.

Over 200 years and six generations later you can still depend upon the Websters and Crescent Woolen Mills Co. to produce quality woolen and synthetic yarns.
